The Curious Tale of Boris P. Kovolovsky

This is Boris P. Kovolovsky the gypsy fox, who was obsessed with the perfect pirouette and stowed away in the tutu chest of Madame Bouffant, costumier for the Russian Ballet in 1921…

What happened next?

Did Madame Bouffant open the tutu chest in the middle of a rehearsal, only to have Boris pirouette past her and onto the stage wearing a pair of pink glittery points? Did he spin at lightning speed past the chorus and fall into line with Mademoiselle Sylvie Sparkle, twirling in perfect harmony?

The Curious Tale of Ella Wolsey

This is Ella Wolsey who rides a Vespa that looks like a cycloptic swan. She likes to eat sugar lumps for breakfast…

What happens next? Does her Vespa take off and follow the flocks of swans west for the winter? Do they land on a frozen lake, accidentally skidding through the reeds into a secret tunnel of icicles? Do they drive through the tunnel narrowly avoiding the falling spears of ice, then end up on a winding path that leads to a white castle made of sugarlumps? Do they tiptoe into the castle to find a fairy princess covered in flour, making vanilla sponge cakes from the walls? Does she welcome Ella and show her how to make the most fabulous array of desserts? Does she learn how to make cakes as tall as a giant and tiny cakes, small enough for a mouse tea party, and delicate cakes that look like lace and luminous cakes that glow in the dark? Does the fairy princess give her a crown of icing and allow her to stay as she long as she wants, and eat as many walls for breakfast as she likes? Does the Vespa end up falling in love with a one-eyed swan and having little mechanical feathery babies that have wheels instead of feet and wings instead of an engine, with eyes that shine in the night? Do they keep Ella company in her bedroom with their eyes that can see through the crystal walls?

Only you can say! Post your endings here!
